Stephen "Kinger" King
Who better to serenade us as we take our seats in this final concert of 2022 than Stephen "Kinger" King.
Kinger named, and designed the Hootenanny brand, wrote our theme song, and performs regularly for Sunnyside Summer Nights. As well as countless firepits, BBQ's, and get-togethers nationwide.
On top of that, Kinger continues to entertain us all, musically and otherwise, through his own extensive original catalog and in his role as one of Memphis and the Grande's grander guys.
Let Kinger lead you in song, and feel him coax your Sunnyside Summer Night smile with the Sunniest of dispositions you'll see on our summer stage.
Meadow Drive
Headed up by childhood friends Jenna and Charity, Meadow Drive hails from Calgary, Alberta. Due to their vast range of musical influences, the band's distinct sound is a direct result of the unique playing style of each member, rather than their alignment with any particular genre.
The band's jazz roots are apparent in the harmonic structure of the songs and melodic importance of the bass, while their love of funk and disco often shines through with crisp, clean guitar riffs and syncopated grooves. Smooth, yet powerful vocals bring even their rock-influenced repertoire under the umbrella of the sound they call their own.
Natural 20
Astral-plane-walkers meets sultry-tunes-talkers.
Natural Twenty is a sultry groove band based in Calgary, Alberta.
They weave rumbling bass, dance beats, jazz harmonies, and nostalgic RnB melodies - into music that inspires foot tapping and dancing. They draw influence from such contemporary acts like Tom Misch, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Internet, Frank Ocean, as well as decades of classic rock, blues, funk, hip-hop, and jazz.
Frederick, Jason, and Robin, the core songwriters and band leaders have been playing music together for over a decade, playing in different outfits and genres.
Natural Twenty is a dice roll landing on twenty. It is the best possible outcome, the luckiest roll, a relief – a Natural Twenty.
Memphis and the Grande - Headliner
If you attended SSN last season, you were surely charmed by that sweet country sound, lead by the man with the big voice, and even bigger heart, Memphis Pambrun.
You may even be able to sing along as the Grande pays tribute to songs from the dirt road they have well traveled.
Do sing along, actually, with their latest singles, "Last Storm" here,(trusting that the last actual SSN storms have long since past..) and the song that sadly didn't influence our playoff hopes, Game 7 Man.
Thanks to Memphis and the SSN Regulars who will sing us out of the 2022 Sunnyside Summer Nights Season!
