Brayden Lowe
Warmup
6:30 - 7:00 PM
I'm Brayden Lowe, a singer and musician from Calgary, Alberta. Music is my passion, I'm all about creating captivating tunes that stick with you. I'm Inspired by legends like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke. But I put a modern twist on my music, bringing in some Usher and Justin Timberlake vibes. It's all about finding that perfect blend.
Right now, I'm in the thick of crafting my upcoming album. I'm mixing R&B and pop to create a sound that gets you grooving and singing along. I'm not a singer alone; I play the keys and guitar too, which gives me the freedom to explore different sounds in my songs.
Making and sharing my own music is a dream come true. It's important to me that my work reflects who I truly am as an artist, and shows my real personality. It's about making a genuine connection with you, the listener. I want my music to bring joy, energy, and a fresh perspective to your life.
So come join me on this summer night journey as we create something fun together.
Eden Taylor
First Act
7:00 - 7:30
I follow my passion for Music through performing at live venues and producing my own songs. I was a Vocalist in the Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede, spending three years singing and dancing with that amazing group.
Along with that, I am a self-taught musician, proficient in singing and playing the piano, as well as a variety of other instruments. Growing up, I participated in ensembles, choirs, and bands, honing my musical skills.
Nowadays, I dedicate my time to pursuing a career as a full-time musician. I strive to share my love for music by teaching others about it as well. It brings me immense joy to pass on my knowledge and passion through music instruction.
I was recently featured on the cover of Airdrie Life Magazine!
Thanks to everyone who made that happen!
Liz Christensen
Second Act
7:45 - 8:15 PM
My new single, "I Really Like You," was released in July 2021, and it's a cotton candy pop bop with conversational lyrics and synth elements inspired by the '80s. When asked about the song, I described it as being about catching feelings for someone. Surprisingly, it practically wrote itself in just 40 minutes one night, and it holds a special place in my heart.
Before this latest release, I had the opportunity to share my music through previous singles like "Summertime" and "Different Shoulders," both of which carried a rootsy, storyteller vibe. In fact, my musical journey began with my debut single "Fences" in 2018, and that same year, I was fortunate enough to win 96.5 CKFM's Star Search in Olds, Alberta.
As an artist, I'm constantly evolving and striving to create meaningful and captivating experiences for my listeners. Stay tuned, as I have more to share, and I appreciate having you on this journey with me.
Frank Mona - Headliner 8:30 - 9:15 PM
Here's what the lads in Frank Mona say about themselves, a modest offering to be sure:
We're four high school students, who have been playing together for over five years. We play mostly indie rock and some of our main musical influences include The Strokes, Weezer and Muse.
A couple of things come to mind when I read this:
They are Hootenanny originals, cramming their 4 piece band into one of our 15 minute sets in Keith's Hootenanny, Musicians from their Kitchens way back in those heady, heady COVID times.
The second thing that comes to mind is they have played EVERY Hootenanny since, for the last two seasons, and we're so happy to have those old-timers on stage yet again.
Their music is much, much better than their copywriting, but please, don't trust me. Confirm that yourself on Wednesday, July 5!
