Headliner - Memphis &
The Grande

Memphis Pambrun,

Stephen King, Don McSwiney,

Scott Lauchlan, Keith Dundas

Memphis and The Grande is back for a second try this Thursday!

If you attended SSN last season, you were surely charmed by that sweet country sound, lead by the man with the big voice, and even bigger heart, Memphis Pambrun. You may even be able to sing along as the Grande pays tribute to songs from the dirt road they have well travelled.

Do sing along, actually, with their latest singles, "Last Storm" here,(trusting that the last actual SSN storms have long since past..) and the song that sadly didn't influence our playoff hopes, Game 7 Man.

Welcome back from Batoche, Memphis, the Sunnyside Summer Nights fans greet you and the Grande with wide smiles and tapping toes once again.

Joe Moreau

Joe Moreau has been playing piano for over 40 years, starting when he was a wee lad entertaining family and friends. While we might have caught, or avoided, other maladies in junior high school, that’s exactly when Joe caught the “performers bug”, and fell in love with song and stage.

For the last 15 years, his talent has matured and grown - as a vocalist, accompanist, and singer with Revv52, Calgary's Vocal Energy, astounding the house at NYC’s Carnegie Hall in 2016 and 2019. And we recognize our own, too  – Joe performed with Revv52 at our own Calgary Stampede Grandstand show in 2017.

Joe shares that “I'm so fortunate to be influenced and mentored by many great artists, and terrific teachers.  I look forward to playing and singing with them as often as I can - always trying to find new ways to bring out the story in the song.”

So sit down, listen up, then renew your love of stories and songs and truths well told as Joe’s deep voice lights the way.

Mirabelle.jpg

Mirabelle Jien

Mirabelle Jien is a singer, songwriter, flautist and composer from Calgary, Alberta. Mirabelle uniquely blends her flute playing with her indie acoustic folk sound in her covers and originals – as found on her Twitch livestreams every Tuesday  and Thursday.

As a composer, Mirabelle has worked on various indie video game sountracks, commercial background music, and more recently, her own composition "Overcoming". Composed live on Twitch, this tune was conceived as the reward for reaching her donation goals for a Stop AAPI Hate charity stream she hosted in April 2021.

Beyond music, Mirabelle has a passion for photography and videography. Her short film, “What Is Music to You?” was selected to be part of the Creator’s Offline “Create At Home” Film Festival (2020).

So as as singer – songwriter – flautist – guitar-player – photographer–indie video game composer – livestreamer – videographer, it appears like busy Mirabelle needs to pick a lane.

Or perhaps we’re all the better if she does not.

Canadian Famous

Nicole Zylstra, April Cruz,

Terry Lacroix *

You'll recognize Canadian Famous - but you just can't remember where from.

As a musical outfit, Canadian Famous is out to delight, playing pop-folk originals with catchy hooks and clever lyrics, and iconic covers of famous Canadians,  wanna-be Canucks, and other transnational North of the 49th musicians.

Featuring ukulele, guitar, supa badass bass and lovely harmonies from the great gals up front, Canadian Famous is not out to dazzle, disarm, or dizzy.

They're simply out to delight.

Funny, that's what we want too, so let's have fun with some Famously fantastic Canadian Famous Canadians.

* Bobby the doggie, inexplicably pictured here, will not be performing on the August 18 show.

Stephen King Guitar In Farmers Field Jacobs Ladder.jpg

Stephen "Kinger" King

You can't get more OH (Original Hootenanny) than our own Stephen "Kinger" King.

Kinger does it all.

He named, designed the identities, then performed regularly for the original Keith'sHootenanny and Sunnyside Summer Nights.

On top of that, Kinger continues to entertain us all, musically and otherwise, through his own extensive original catalog and in his role as one of Memphis and the Grande's grander guys.

Come early - then let Kinger serenade you to your seats, lead you in song, and set up your Sunnyside Summer Night reeeel nice.
